Sweet Water

Yet another hot day. What's happening???
It was yet another trip to the allotment, as well. I actually came away feeling that I had made a visible difference this time; another two or three visits and other people looking over it might not think the plot is untended.

I collected up the shallots that had been drying off, dug up some garlic and picked a huge bagful of broad beans: Aquadulce Claudia which we had planted last winter. I had also been collecting the grounds from our morning pot of coffee. Spread them around the climbing french bean seedlings, in the (probably vain) hope that they will deter the rampaging slugs... we'll see
