RAILWAYS PAST

This bridge is now on the cycle track from Scarborough to Ravenscar. At one time it was a vibrant rail link between Scarborough and Whitby, carrying tourists along the East Coast.

It is a long steady climb out of Scarborough and so, by the time cyclists reach this bridge, they are ready for the Tea Rooms that lie a short distance ahead. Me - I just head straight for the tearoom.
