Playing with fire!

Started the day with a 3 hour taxi drive it the coast, then a speed boat to Koh Samed.

After a dumping our bags it was more Thai food for lunch, mine was followed by some fantastic mango.

Back to the villa for a rest or so we thought but Geoff the had an offer he couldn't refuse, a little old lady offering to do his feet, he has waited nearly two years to return to the island for this. He doesn't like his feet being touched but we found last time that these ladies can perform miracles. At first thought it was the same lady until she smiled, she had less teeth. Needless to say I joined him, I must admit, you may want to look away now, that I haven't looked after my feet for the last month knowing I was seeing these ladies. You can look back now.

It was lively lying down listening to the sea and watching the giant butterflies in the trees above us. There were also small lizards in the trees.

Guess what next, a shower, snooze, then walk along the beach.

The fire guys turned up during dinner, fascinating to watch their preparation.

The young lad with the 'hula hoop' above may be ten years old but no more.

They dug a small pit, lit a gas cylinder in it, poured paraffin into an open container, held the sticks over the paraffin and soaked then with it using a jug, then put them into the hole to light them. I also had some great fire painting photos may put them in my folio I'll see.
