Barrel Cactus Bloom

I saw some buds clustered rather closely and was hoping they would bloom at the same time. But alas, just one a day.

I'm glad I took this when I did. I wanted to wait until later  for different light but  a terrible storm has moved in. It's so windy the poor hummingbirds are flapping for their lives trying to keep steady as they sit and sip.  It's going to be rough going for the rest of the day.

I fully expect Dorothy's house from The Wizard of Oz to land in my backyard soon.
