End of the day and the end of the weekend......
which has been fun and busy.
Started on Friday night having dinner with Becca and Collin, then brunch on Saturday morning with them, Bev and Hedley.
We didn't leave the outside table until 13:00 only to discover that Becca's car wouldn't start so I took the two of them into Saffron Walden while Geoff waited for the breakdown man. Luckily it was a run down battery so easy to repair.
They left eventually around 15:30. I cooked a banoffee cheesecake to take to dinner in the evening.
Then the two of us slept for two hours, we just seem to be tired all the time at present.
Lovely dinner with Liz, who had also hit the Delia cook book serving chicken basque. Home rather late, time travels too quickly with good friends.
Up a bit later than normal this morning then off to Bury St Edmunds to have lunch at Bill's courtesy of the vouchers given to Geoff by Becca and Tim for his birthday.
Home, had another sleep, then picked up a text from Becca, Collin has lost his passport, could we check out house. We did - no luck!
He has to go to the embassy tomorrow and obtain an emergency passport but it looks like the first flight they will offer him home is the 12 August whichbuggers up the start to his new job. They are try to find a way round it but just to change the flight has cost $450. I know he wasn't keen on returning but I don't think he wanted extra time to happen this way. Feel for them both.
Now time for a bath and guess what more sleep..........have a course starting tomorrow.
