Sri Lanka - Day 2 - Anuradhapura
An early start to cover the 240km to Anuradhapura. The drive was long at an average of 30km/hour.
On the way we stopped at the Elephant Orphanage to see the world's largest herd of domestic Elephants take a bath in the river.
Anuradhapura is the most celebrated of Sri Lanka’s ancient ruined cities dating back to the 5th Century BC which formed the foundation for a magnificent civilisation spanning over a few centuries. It is a World Heritage Site.
