Mono Monday Re-Cycle

This is a box of random bike bits. I recognise some of them as being bits that have once upon a time graced one or other of my bicycles. Some of them just whims that didn’t last long like silver toe clips and white straps
:-))))

My husband, Igor, is lovingly referred to by family and friends as “Bicycle Repair Man”. He has a cape and wears his underpants over his jogging bottoms (not true. I made that bit up!!). He can, however do amazing things with bikes. He could build one from a few left over bits, he can customise one for any shape or size of person and he can keep one (mine) running as smoothly as…….. a smooth thing.

This box of bits is destined for a charity we support as much as we are able called re-cycle. It’s a relatively small charity that collects and repairs bicycles and sends them to Africa where they can “offer people a route out poverty and a means to improve their lives”. They can help young people travel long distances to school, help to carry water and help budding entrepreneurs to run their small businesses, all at a relatively small cost. They even help to set up bicycle repair centres in under-developed countries so that communities can service and repair their own bikes. The charity makes a real difference to peoples lives. Over 56 000 of them so far.
