Gateway to Wales

The first day back in work after my holiday and there’s an overwhelming sense of impending doom around the place. It’s inevitable that we will lose more people, good people and it’s quite depressing; it certainly hasn’t improved my mood.

We’re just days away from the NATO summit in Newport now and the police were out again in force, they were on every bridge approaching Newport in Wales and in England, and were even stationed on the Second Severn Crossing, the gateway to Wales.
