Time standing still at Le Marchant Barracks

These barracks accommodated the Wiltshire Regiment - 250 soldiers - from 1878 to 1959. There was married quarters, a hospital and a cricket ground. The main building is now housing, and the keep is in the final stages of conversion. On the whole it's not been badly done, though I'm not really convinced by the portacabin-style penthouse on top of the keep tower. It's a massive building but hard to photograph due to parking and bins and the way all the verticals go out of kilter the moment I zoom upwards. The old cricket ground has been kept too, as an open green area.
Anyway, the clock is one of my favourite bits, it's so easy to imagine summer cricket games being paused for tea.
