We got there in the end - I'll just leave you to guess each individuals age ;-)

(Gilly - Bernie + Bob) x (Heather + wee James) - ((Dave - Lindsey + big James) - (David - Jenny) x Bill) - (John - Sue) = 1500!!!!!

Thought it'd be a good idea to record the actual formula!
(66-66+71) x (13+11) - ((42-42+42)-(68-45) x 7) - (71-70)=1500!
