Derelict Thursday - Pig Sty
A friend took us through the Blockheide, a nature park in the next town. The park is well known for its large rock formations made of granite which abounds in the area. Parts of the park have been made into open air museums. This photo shows the facade of a derelict pig stall dating back to 1867, each door opening to a separate stall. The letters J and K have also been carved into the facade and would have been the names of the farmers to whom the stall belonged. There are many such artefacts there depicting former lifestyles such as the tools used to engrave granite cut from the nearby quarry. I thought this pig sty would fit well with Sarum Stroller´s Derelict Thursday challenge.
