Trade Union Meeting, Berlin

We spend most of our final morning in Berlin at a local cafe having a three tiered breakfast, after reading that breakfast was one of Berliners' favourite meals. This was a meal for feasts and holidays. Afterwards, a short meander through our neighbourhood for a beer at a bar we had been to before and liked, only to find that it was closed to the public because it had been booked for a meeting of the health care workers union. One of the staff noticed our predicament and risked the wrath of his management to kindly bring us out our last beer in Berlin.

It is now Autumn in Berlin, with trees turning brown and leaves falling and blankets available on the outdoors seats at restaurants and cafés. But this is a city with Spring in its step.
