Good Neighbours
The tree at the front of our house has been in need of serious attention for some time. But it's on the other side of the property line, and the landlord who owns the house next door has been very disinclined to pay for anything to be done.
So I was surprised this morning to hear the sound of a chainsaw at work. Going out to investigate, I discovered that the lovely Nigerian family who are renting the property at the moment had been in touch with the landlord and got his agreement to the tree being taken down, as long as it was at their cost. And they had then also spoken to Bob, who lives over the road and has time on his hands and a chainsaw which he likes to use.
So Bob and his mate were taking down the tree, and got it finished before the remains of Hurricane Gonzalo blow in. He even offered to take out our pampas grass for us some time! Good to have such good neighbours.
