New aspect

Last Monday we had to say goodbye to a magnificent ash tree growing across the lane from our house.

During the night the high winds had caused a huge branch to split and become a danger to passing traffic and within an hour or so traffic lights appeared to allow tree surgeons to rectify the situation. On inspection they decided that the tree was rotten and should be removed in its entirety.

By that evening its branches had been removed and all that remained was the trunk standing about six metres high, by lunchtime next day the whole tree had disappeared and a vast expanse was exposed where before the beautiful tree had been.

It soon became apparent that the change had dramatically altered the view and exposure to the front of our house, now we get sun in the afternoon and fantastic sunsets. This may be the first of many.
