Pre-Parade Chat

I headed up to the marshalling area for the Blackheath Rhododendron Festival Parade today - a much easier place to get some good pictures than during the parade itself.

Trisharooni was there, and she has posted a great collection of images on Flickr. I'll try to get a few up there too over the next day or so.

Just before the parade began, the iconic "Waratah Drum Corps" slipped quietly into the line up. They are well known for their appearances at the Katoomba "Winter Magic Festival" each year, and their disciplined, tight performances are a sight to behold. They are appearing at the Blackheath Public School Hall tonight, with a series of other drum groups, including the African drum group that Cymbeline performs with.

I managed to capture these two in a quiet chat before they headed off in the Parade.
