Buttercups!!!

... or so my friend John tells me! Purple buttercups of this shape seem to be quite common at the moment.

This wonderful display of CROCUSES is in the garden of St John's College, Oxford. Every year, this place is a wonderland of spring flowers. I have put some others on Twitpic

A couple of people remarked on the picture I took in the garden a few days ago that it was a "worm's eye view", so I experimented again with the idea. The garden ones I took just by bending down and lowering the camera to what I thought would be the right height, aiming vaguely, and shooting. For this set taken on Sunday, I knelt down, but I got very muddy (best) trousers.... Sacrifices on the altar of Art, and all that.
