Advent: The start of the Christmas Season
It begins on the Sunday nearest November 30th and covers four Sundays.

For the year 2014
The first Sunday of Advent was yesterday, (30th November)

Advent Wreath
- Consists of four candles surrounded by evergreen branches
- Usually three purple candles and one rose candle.
- Purple candles symbolise Hope, Peace & Love
- Rose candle symbolises Joy and is lit on the third Sunday of Advent
