At class on Monday I started to fit the lock on a jewellery box that I’m restoring. The old lock was probably the second or third one fitted judging by the amount of damage inside the box.
I spent ages cutting small pieces of wood to fit inside so as to anchor the lock. The pieces were about the size of a matchstick and glued in place in class.
I’m now at home using “Rona’s” methods. I needed to fill the space round the lock so have used good old matchsticks to do the job. A bit of filler for any remaining cracks will be sufficient, as the box will be lined and all this patchwork of materials will be hidden away.
Slept for 10 hrs solid last night, must have been really tired!!
We had planned to go to see the film Paddington this afternoon, but as I haven’t had a day at home for over a week and plan to be out tomorrow and Friday, we have postponed that trip until next week.
Next job to be done involves sewing and is the subject for B’s blip today. I will link it when it is posted!!
Sorry that I'm way behind on commenting on your journals :0( . Will try to do better soon.
