Om die Dam (Around the Dam)

Today marked the twentieth anniversary of this event. Thousands of athletes as well as 'non-athletes' come to Hartbeespoort Dam to participate every year.

The program makes provision for athletes to run 21km or 50 km, and serves as a qualifier for the Comrades Marathon which takes place anually on 16 June between Durban and Pietermaritzburg.

There are two Fun Run categories as well, being the 5km or the 10km.

R jnr's whole school, (Mountain Cambridge Secondary School) staff as well as students, participated in the 5km Fun Run! Each participant that finished the distance were furnished with a bronze medal as proof of their participation.

He and A were sóóó tired when they returned home late morning, they just passed out and slept for a good hour or two! ;-)

All the distances, longer than the 5 km' s, passed our house, I stood there, next to the street, from 06:15 until 12:45, shooting as many of the action as possible!
