Was It Really So Long Ago

George T. H. Cushing, MBE was a man, who experienced the travelling fayre at a young age and at a time when dark evenings were spent without electricity and its associated comforts. It must have been a delight to see. So we visited his collection at Thursford, which stands as a tribute to the achievements of both the engineers who created them and the men who drove them.

As it turned out, the music of the fairground rides was too loud for our daughters, who showed a great deal more interest in the playground outside. That is until our younger daughter decided that the last five paces of walking to the playground were too many, so a tantrum was in order. In the end she decided that she was missing out on too much fun and that she should play with the other children.

While they were doing so, the sun appeared for a short while, so I took the camera to these exotic little blooms in the grass.
