the random mind of a toddler...
Yes, you are quite correct - that is a cherry inside a whisk. And no, I have no idea either. I found it when I was tidying up after Arlo had gone to bed - stuffed in the lift bit of the toy garage next to a keeled over elephant and a red plastic cotton reel.
Thankfully, he's back OFF eating fruit at the moment so there was no worry that he was going to eat that cherry (after extracting it from the whisk, I'd assume) and choke on the pip, well a bit of a worry, but no point stressing about the things that didn't happen eh?!. I do wonder how he got hold of a whole cherry when I keep them in the fridge anyway, but best not to delve too far into the mind of a toddler - they are dark, irrational and highly puzzling places.
I am not feeling well today - I have really sore shoulders and a sore neck and I made a lamb and lentil casserole at 7.30 this morning which is a clear sign of having contracted a very strange virus surely? I am going to bed right this very minute....
Well, after I've finished my Blip.
Yesterday, after Eve's party we were all a bit under the weather (well, I was just hungover but the other 2 weren't right so I can say that) and so we all spent most of the day zonked on the sofa. By mid afternoon Arlo had said the word 'cake' at least 600 times (added to the 2000 times the day before and 'cake' is a very annoying bloody word. Especially when I'm on a diet...) and I could stand it no longer. Hats and coats and shoes were rammed on and off we went to the shop to purchase a cake.
As I was passing the DVD shop I thought I'd pop in to see what they had, thinking I might be able to feed Arlo enough cake to knock him out in front of a full length film for the first time in his life so I could get on with important Sunday afternoon snoozing. They had the Jungle Book!
Turns out, I didn't need to knock him out with cake - he just sat and watched the whole thing anyway! Like, from beginning to end! And then asked for more! And he wasn't talking about the cake!
I loved the Jungle Book as a kid (what a stupid thing to say, of course I did, we all did, no?) and whenever I hear the music it reminds me of a summer that I had a really weird virus (more talk of virus. Maybe I'm virus ridden and hallucinating this whole entry?) and was off school for a couple of weeks. Mum moved me into her bedroom which was lovely and sunny and I was allowed the record player in the room and one of the LPs she had for me was the Jungle Book soundtrack. I hear 'Bear Necessities' now and I just think about wet face cloths and mashed egg in a cup.
Anyway. I really do sound like I'm hallucinating now so I'll spare you anymore insanity x
