Roadworks Gent style

In Gent there is already a marvellously smooth and efficient tram network. So they are digging up all the streets to replace the cobbles; or the drains; or something.

This is a shopping street in the middle of Gent - those pedestrians are squeezing past behind the digger to come in and out of the shop. The digger was in full operation at the time, sometimes going into reverse.

And I thought the tramworkings in Edinburgh were bad.....
