Wistful Recollections
I think I mentioned before the fact that my home town was once a great centre of enterprise, fishing, shipping, boat building and manufacturing. Then came the slump of the 1980's which left us with a huge unemployment rate. This was pretty well cured during the years of the so-called Celtic Tiger but now, here we go again. This man is sitting on a bench where the north beach used to be. This also is now gone, swept away forever by the infamous Hurricane Charlie. He is looking towards the old wood chip factory and I thought his body language indicated that perhaps he was thinking of the old days. Perhaps he was one of those who once worked in this very factory.
