Panopticon
This is known locally as the "Singing Ringing Tree". Its a really cool piece of public art on Crown Point overlooking Burnley. Its one of a number of sculptures commissioned in east Lancashire and unveiled to the public in 2007.
This one is made of metal tubes - some of them are purely structural; others have had holes cut into them to make musical notes.
The effect is quite surreal as you get closer to it. The wind creates an ever changing melody, but you have to be close to hear it.
Its awesomely cool.
