Old and written off... : Nancy

This is the "old" gasturbine of unit EC 20, also known as "Nancy".
Built by AEG Kanis with a 24 Megawatt Rade Konçar generator.
It dus not meet the environmental standards anymore and it's far too expensive to give it an upgrade.
After the unit was reconstructed as a Combi unit this one was only used for peak load and to serve as a "Black Start" unit.
A Black Start unit can start-up without the high tension grid, i.e. when (a big part of) the country has a black out.
So we could build up the grid from zero.
Others can do that now....
Also asbestos has been found in several parts of her so we don't touch her anymore.
