An Equal and Opposite Reaction

This is the name of Sarah Sze's sculpture that hangs in the Seattle Opera House. I looked for good stripes today but wasn't too pleased with what turned out, and Fiona was here for a couple of hours, but it's not her day for the blip! And then it was time to go to the ballet (it was a terrific all Twyla Tharp program) so here is part of the opera house lobby (with 'stripey" stairs!) and this stunning, very fun sculpture of powdered coated aluminum with all sorts of mixed media hanging- little ladders, measuring tapes and cups, water bottles, plastic plants, levels, clamps and other building materials and so much more to discover. The scenic workshop for the opera built it with her in 2005. Sorry it's an iphone pix so not so great at night, but you can get the idea.
