Heavenly stroll

Glorious sunshine here for Dave and I to go blipping together. We set off for a fun stroll to the end of The Horns Valley, past Snakeshole Wood and Wasa Wasa, then via Nether Lypiatt house back down Claypits Lane to The Heavens, before finally taking the old 'weg' to the ruins of Weyhouse.

We had a good chat about this and that, till we finally found a couple of locations. You might be interested to go to Dave's journal HERE, as he knows what his Blip will be. I brought a couple of old maps, one of which was the 1841 Tithe Map, showing all the old names of the groves and pieces and the Havens.

I gave Dave a cup of tea and we then did a swap. I lent him two O|iver Rackham books about trees and landscape history. He lent me a Sigma 70-300mm. I have never used such a beast before, so I was very excited (not a pretty sight).

I went immediately to our cabin and took a couple of experimental shots of the bird feeders. The Goldfinch is eyeing up the fat balls, whilst perched on the Rhus branch. I think the highlight is of the multitude of little hairs which coat the Rhus, especially in winter.

It may be rough and ready, but I like it. I think am going to have fun for a few days.
