The first day of another year of den building

Den building is always a priority to my boys and this new year's day was no exception. Just grateful that the latest construction took place outside, it kept them out there until dark too (bonus).

I joined them, bringing with me jam sandwiches and 2 useful lanterns. I sat and marveled at the structure, drank a cup of tea, remarked on how still the air was and brought the idea of foxes and badgers into the mix.

Today's den ingredients were:

1 old Bramley apple tree
1 broken trampoline
3 old outdoor cushions
3 fold-up camping chairs
1 spear
1 small stick
1 sledge
1 rope ladder
1 cargo net
