EARTHQUAKE DAMAGE AT RICCARTON HOUSE.
I have spent this morning photographing earthquake damage to the Historic Riccarton House for the records..This is a photograph of chimney brisks that have fallen into one of the second floor bedrooms. Fortunatly the building has not been damaged beyond repair unlike many other historic building arround the city. Being a wooded building it has stood up to the force at lot better than the old stone and brick building.
The city is still in lock down , travel around the city is very difficult, many people unable to return to their damaged houses and are being looked after in shelters set up in schools gyms etc.
We are fortunate to still have all the services at our place and no further damage to our house.
Our friend who we helped move yesturday are now staying with us for an indeffinate time.
