Christmas Gifts

Today we took our grandsons Christmas shopping. We have been enjoying this annual treat since the boys were 5 and 7 years old, now they are 13 and 15 years and today was just as much fun as that first one when they were little boys so full of excitiement at the prospect of choosing the gifts they wanted to buy for their mum amd dad. Only now they had a much bigger shopping list and had very strong ideas about what would suit each person. It was great to see the care they took selecting the most appropriate gifts.

Generous as ever they had collected coins to put into the charity box at the nativity in Clydebank shopping Centre. I know I should be pleased that so many people wanted to throw their coins into the charity appeal but really wish they had put them in or around the box provided. Am i becoming an old grump or do the coins spoil the scene for others as well.
