Something to aspire to

One of the spires on the McManus Galleries, Dundee - opened as the Albert Institute in 1867 in memory of Prince Albert, designed by George Gilbert Scott. I think this is on one of the two newer sections added in 1889. It functioned as a museum and part of the city's library services, and was taken over by the City Corporation (these days, the 'Cooncil') in 1959. After refurbishment it was renamed in memory of Provost Maurice McManus.
The museum recently had a huge refurbishment and reopened just under a year ago. Thankfully they didn't just do the insides - they did a fantastic job cleaning up the exterior, and once again the building looks fabulous!

As you'll be able to tell from the colour of the background, it's been a beautiful morning here - finally a great day for getting out and taking photos :-)
