View from Boho Parish Church
Our first day with our wonderful hosts Lysney and Gary. Spent the morning at Florence Court, a beautiful stately home - emerged to the very heavy rain that seems to mark Fermanagh....
After dropping Jem and Lynsey off for their spa, Gary and I did a wee tour of the west side of Upper Lough Erne - my first time round this part. Visited Monea Castle, a runined 17th century tower house built in a Scottish style - just a shell now, but great to look round and work out all the different rooms when it was still in one piece!
Then visited a few lovely parish churches, including one ruin (new to Gary) and Boho, which has a truly spectacular view. I can't find the name of this lough (which may actually just be a flood, there's been so much rain!), but I think it's on the Sillees River - otherwise known as the silly river, because it doesn't seem to know where it's going - the actual distance of the flow is twice as long as the distance from source to Lough Erne, because it winds around so much!
