loved having a look through your journal when i started.

Was looking at the links. Can't really explain, but all the photos look so static, like you have caged a moment in time so strongly in your photographs... Not sure why I feel like that. Some very nice photos there too.

this "old photo" effect really matches with the theme/topic in your series pictures. It reflects the mood of the song and connects the individual pieces, bravo.
However, your help and those views (behind curtain, behind door), angles and the "old, used" effect was a big support with the scoolwork which gave the meaning to those pictures...

- I fish because my father taught me. When I lost him, it was therapy and made me feel close to him. I also use a lot of his fishing gear and that makes me feel closer. Now it is more about calmness and escape from work, people, noise, traffic and it is about being in touch with nature.

Concentrating on fishing empties my mind and it is a constant learning experience. Every moment you are aware of the weather, the flow of water in the river as the currents twist and turn and pull at your legs and your line. Also the noises, smells and sights make you feel part of the real world rather than the pretend world of cities, money and image consciousness.

I feel refreshed and in touch with reality when I have been on a fishing trip, but it is too easy to slip back into the unrealistic rush of life in the city when I return, so it all becomes a count down to the next fishing trip!

~ treegonk   No, I think your suggestions are valid. But in this case it was difficult doing either. Had I taken the shot from a lower position, I would have missed the Architecture in the background (There was a large distance between the horse and the building). I would simply have a horse against a perhaps blown out sky. And getting to a higher position was again not possible. But you are right. This was a tricky situation in terms of lighting. My aim was to try and show the horse in its element and the stark, perhaps contradictory, architecture in the backdrop. Let me see if I get such opportunities again. Perhaps I will try and recompose the scene.
