Friday 21 March 2008 : All is still and full - Tip toe
After two months, another blip from Magdeburg
Got an opportunity to collaborate with Julia for her art course in school. The task was to a create a photo series based on some topic. Julia chose Tip Toe song as a theme for the photo series. Michel, a friend of Julia, was the main character, and Julia herself did a supporting role.
In the lyrics of the song given below, you can see some sample images from the shooting which we did at Julia's home. Set arrangements and shooting took about 3 hours.

Marlango - Tip Toe (Listen this song)
That time when you can hear footsteps
And deep breathing
That time when shadows grown
When sleeping pills hold me like a baby
Open arms twisted dreams
Tip toe_tip toe_tip toe_tip toe_tip toe_tip toe
Tip toe around the clocks, tip toe
Don't make them tic fast
That time when you can gaze around your life
From deep under your blankets
That time there's nothing you can do
Nothing you can mend
All is still and full
Tip toe
Tip toe around your bed, tip toe
Around yourself
Tip toe
Don't wake yourself up

Was looking at the links. Can't really explain, but all the photos look so static, like you have caged a moment in time so strongly in your photographs... Not sure why I feel like that. Some very nice photos there too.

I just cannot get over how you edited these shots.
How do you make them so texturalized and grungy?
I LOVE IT.

And thanks for the comment on mine.

this "old photo" effect really matches with the theme/topic in your series pictures. It reflects the mood of the song and connects the individual pieces, bravo.
However, your help and those views (behind curtain, behind door), angles and the "old, used" effect was a big support with the scoolwork which gave the meaning to those pictures...
Very good result.
~ an Lovely shot here and great links!

- I fish because my father taught me. When I lost him, it was therapy and made me feel close to him. I also use a lot of his fishing gear and that makes me feel closer. Now it is more about calmness and escape from work, people, noise, traffic and it is about being in touch with nature.
Concentrating on fishing empties my mind and it is a constant learning experience. Every moment you are aware of the weather, the flow of water in the river as the currents twist and turn and pull at your legs and your line. Also the noises, smells and sights make you feel part of the real world rather than the pretend world of cities, money and image consciousness.
I feel refreshed and in touch with reality when I have been on a fishing trip, but it is too easy to slip back into the unrealistic rush of life in the city when I return, so it all becomes a count down to the next fishing trip!
I hope that answers your question?
Thanks for all your comments. Hope things are ok with you.
