Lyra's Great Grandad, Dr Geoff Kellaway is an eminent geologist. At the age of 95 he now lives in Lyme Regis (VERY geologically interesting) where his house is designed upside down so his living space has fantastic views over the bay of Lyme Regis. He is still working on a very important paper about the Malvern Line. He's explaining it to Lyra here (genuinely).
