Barter books

Today Cyclops and I drove down to Alnwick in Northumberland where my parents were spending a few days over Christmas. The weather was pretty bad on the way down, but we got there in one piece.

We had lunch and exchange of gifts, a bit of a tour of the hotel (which has an awesome dining room featuring the panelling, mirrors and stained glass windows from Titanic's sister ship the Olympic, and we went to Barter Books which is an absolutely massive second hand book shop in the old railway station.

We then drove back home as we had friends coming round for the evening. Just time for a quick hoover round before they arrived, then much champagne and fun was had by all.
