The empty lot.

Not a very thrilling picture but I've been documenting this empty lot in my neighborhood for a while (more background here if interested) and when I walked past it today I noticed the two apple trees on the parking strip were gone and the chestnut trees on the west side had received an aggressive pruning - very glad they are still standing! I can only think this is in preparation for construction work to begin.

The yarn heart and hearts may soon be gone.

Butternut squash soup is made and a pear crumble is in the oven.
