A Scenic Overlook

Let's play a little Jeopardy to start. I'll start.

"Alex...I'll take Up North Camping for $200.00."

"The answer is...This seriously puts a damper on things when you are camping."

I buzzed in. "Alex...what is RAIN!!!!." I was right, and 200 dollars richer.

Soooo...the question is...what do you do when it rains all day long when you're trying to camp?? The REAL men slap on some clothes, and go salmon fishing. A stupid photographer goes out with a tripod, and an umbrella. One of the young 'ens actually keeps a fire going.

But...it's tough. You want to be outside, even if it's cold. My daughter Karen came late, so we had 12 people trying to eat lunch and supper in a travel trailer. Cozy...but tight. Son-in-law Doug stayed home with Merrick. I don't know what we would have done with him. Just like everyone else...the little man likes to be outside.

This overlook features a sand dune down to the river... that I would hate to guess how long it is. Back when I was young and foolish...I would have jumped my way to the bottom, and struggled back up. Not so much any more.

On my Flickr page...I put the fishermen, some more color shots, and the Lumberman's Monument. Click here for a shot of my son Jeff at the monument in August.

The "Rain Rain Go Away" song didn't work. Lisa and I had a motel room booked in town to take the baby to...so we got to go watch our Detroit Tigers beat the hated Yankees. GO TIGERS!!
