An Enticing Entrance

This is the old Bishop's Palace in Llandaff village, a fortified building of the 13th-14th centuries.
It is believed to have been attacked and set on fire by Owain Glyndwr, the Welsh rebel leader, in the early 15th century.
Its present ruined state probably dates back to the Civil War of the 17th century.
The gate leads into a very pretty herb garden with magnolias, wisteria and ancient fig trees.
