Making a statement

The shortest day....
.....If you have been following NZ blippers over the last few days you will know that the South Island and some of the North Island are in the grips of what forecasters have said "is a once in a 30 year storm" courtesy of the Antarctica. We have had more than 6 inches of rain.
This morning we woke to snow, but didn't settle here and all day it has rained, hailed, sleet and even some sunshine at times. Crazy. Inland is manic - snow very deep in places. I heard a report from Tekapo that snow was up to the waist of residents.
Wellington, (our daughter Janelle lives there) overnight was horrific. They thought their roof was a goner, the children were terrified. The interisland ferry broke its moorings and had to anchor in the harbour. 6 - 8 metre swells in the harbour. Trains, planes, ferries all stationery - the city at a standstill.

Anyrate, I could go on but won't - so many stories throughout to be told. Today I could have taken a snow picture very easily as plenty of it just out the back, not five minutes in the car. But instead I went less than five minutes to record the very grumpy Pacific Ocean.
More anger !!

Keeping warm and hoping all friends and blippers are fearing OK.
