Alasdair and the lamb
Today's the day ........................... for Sunday lunch
This is Alasdair - and for the last few days, we have been staying with him and his wife Sionag near Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis.
His face might seem familiar to you if you are a follower of Will's journal because he featured here (And, by the way, this is him without facial hair if you are interested). Both he and Sionag are superb cooks and we have been utterly spoilt in the culinary department from the moment we arrived. So much so that I'm not quite sure how we're going to cope with normal fare when we're back home again.
Today, the two of them made a Sunday lunch to die for. This is the leg of lamb about to go into the oven after a marinade in wondrous things - where it would slowly cook until it was as tender as it's possible to be. The whole meal was delicious to the last mouthful of the raspberry souffle.
Yes - we have become accustomed to this haute cuisine and it's going to be very hard to keep up the standards . . . . . . .
