Globe artichoke

Today's the day ……………………. for the perennial question

'To eat ….. or not to eat?'  - that is the question that gets asked every year about this time.

Do we leave this globe artichoke alone and watch it develop into that gloriously purple flower? Or do we chop it off (quite soon), cook it and then serve it up as a starter with a vinaigrette dip?  I know which answer Will would pick.

But then, I was the one that actually grew it - and that flower is just so wonderful.  Mmmm - it's going to be difficult …………………..
