Snowfall
Today's the day ....................... to get stuck in
This is the view this morning, looking over our garden fence to the other side of the River Dee - and to all that's left there, of the railway viaduct that once carried the Castle Douglas to Kirkcudbright line, over the river.
It's all that's left too of the promised snow that they said would fall overnight. The snow was quickly followed by drizzly rain, although the temperatures remained doggedly low all day. It was a day to stay in and start on that New Year resolution to rid the house of a lot of stuff that seems to have accumulated in cupboards in the six years that we have been here.
Fortunately, we were saved in the late afternoon by the arrival of two good friends and neighbours up the road, bringing gifts and wishing us a Happy New Year. We were more than ready to stop what we were doing and share a drink (Will's homemade wine) with them .....................!
