I wonder what my blip will look like a year from now? So many directions it could go... Hmmm, What to focus on? I'm not sure! I like looking at pictures of bleak places, empty places, forgotten things. I also like looking at pictures of people, going about their daily business. I like to watch small people grow, and seeing glimpses of life through their eyes. I like to indulge my eyes in rich colour - a feast for the senses, but I like muted, faded, old looking things too. I am fascinated by things that remind me of the cycle of life and death. I am inspired by seeing people's honest reflections of dealing with illness and other hardships - a way we can share our joys and sorrows through a little window known as a lens. I get captivated by the cleansing, renewing, almost religious qualities of light, especially when it is so strong that it starts to bleach things out. There are so many things I could take pictures of, it is rather overwhelming. So, for now, one day at a time, I will just pick out 'what the eye likes' (Milner, On not being able to paint, Heinmann educational 1950) at the exact given moment that I have my camera at the ready and a spark of inspiration in front of me. Let the learning begin. Lets see what happens...
