The Sunbeam
THE SUNBEAM A seventy four ton schooner built in England in the 1860, The boat was owned by RICHARD KIERNAN or KEARON of ARKLOW and seems to have been used to deliver cargo around IRELAND.The Sunbeam was sailing in ballast from KILVARA to CORK when she met her end. CAUGHT in a gale she ran aground on ROSSBEIGH beach on January 28 1903. Fortunatly there was no loss of life.
