Her Majesties Finest War Canoes in Plymouth Sound.
One of the great perks of my job is that I get to travel round the country and stay in nice hotels. This week has seen me in sunny Plymouth - an old haunt of mine when doing sea training in my naval days.
Now, call this one spooky. I left the navy as I was fed up looking at the inside of a warship. Now, I find myself looking over Plymouth Sound at some ships. Now, I'm not going to be a spotter and name the warships, but I can say, I have spent some time on at least one of them. Judging by the composure, I would say that they are all on pre-deployment operational sea training. Fires, floods, machinery breakdowns - and thats all in a days work for the training staff at Plymouth. Sadly, I had to turn around and check into my hotel. Its a hard life these days. I've got another blip from my second day in Plymouth, but I'll put that on over the weekend as I'm tired.
Any spotters want to name ships, then dont be shy!!
