Conversations

Once in a great while, you answer the phone at exactly the moment you are thinking of someone and you find yourself freely sharing your heart with them, just as you imagined, but perhaps not like you would have if you had saved it up and tried to reconfigure it.

It's more rare than a blue moon. Actually, a blue moon comes around fairly frequently, so it's more like getting a butterfly to land on you.

Even more rare, is having your camera handy and mindlessly snapping pictures...sort of out of habit by now...while you're on the phone and conversing long enough and snapping long enough that you capture the authenticity of the moment because your attention is not on the camera, but completely on the precious conversation that will only happen once. Then to have it framed well, that's sort of like getting to see the Northern Lights in person...when you don't live anywhere near them.

That's the magic of social media, you do things, and photograph things you never would have before. Then you record the moment and it gives you this amazing sense of time standing still and it makes you smile and know that you get to relive it as often as you like...and even though you're over 50, you won't forget it happened.
