The soul of Porto
I hesitated in putting this as the first picture I show you of Porto, Portugal, because it's kind of sad to represent this beautiful city with a derelict building. But to me, it is a beautiful derelict building! And there were so many of them all over town, it really is part of the atmosphere over there. You get a sense of what it's like to not have enough money to repair buildings, whether they belong to individuals or to the city. It's sad that they are abandonned, but it looks like they're just waiting for better days. If they were destroyed, the town would loose part of its soul, I guess. That's how it felt to me, anyway.
