Shifting Sands

Walking along the prom this afternoon, something odd was going on. The beach had giant sandcastles appearing here and there. Art, I thought, until I saw the tractors and sticks and officials.

It seems the cooncil are spending £60K on moving a huge pile of sand from the west of the beach to the east to sort out the flood defences after the storms last year. A touch of the King Canutes, I'd say.

Anyway, it gave someone some fun.
