Today I was mostly lecturing MA students on social media for feature writers. Things like building a platform, a personal brand and an audience in a niche area with a blog; using that to generate commissioned work and other revenue; and promoting blog posts and articles with social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.

I also set foot inside a student bar for the first time in years, as I had time for a couple of beers with my friend and course leader Danuta, and a couple of the students. How very David Lodge.
