bruntwood park
This morning we went out grocery shopping with my dad, and stopped at a cafe for coffee and a very large piece of chocolate fudge cake. It was huge. Ben helped us eat it, as he didn't like the icecream that he'd asked for! My aim was to get Ben to have an early nap, so that we could go and see his gran in the afternoon and go out somewhere.
But no.
Even though before we went out shopping, he lay down on the stairs and covered himself in his jacket and closed his eyes, announcing to the world that "Ben tired, Ben close eyes, Ben sleep". Ben when I tried to get him off to sleep somewhere other than the stairs, he gave it 5 minutes and announced he was awake again. What can you do?!
He learnt a new trick today: pigeon chasing! The look of sheer delight to be able to make pigeons take off was beautiful and utterly priceless - none of this stomping and ferocious chasing, just joy at running about :)
So after shopping I bundled him into the car and headed off out again to pick up his jacket that I'd left behind yesterday. Speaking of our sweet dusty-bones, the main image in this pic is in homage to her!
This time he fell asleep within a couple of minutes of getting into the car. (Unlike yesterday, where he fell asleep two minutes before we arrived.) So he had a good 45 minute nap in the car driving to Lymm and back and stopping off for diesel as well; and then we had a quick lunch and headed over to see Gran.
Too late to go out to the garden centre, but just right for Bruntwood Park! So off we went, enjoying the sunshine, playing on almost everything, enjoying playing with his gran :) And then back to her house for more playtime with Grandad, and dinner, and another surprise to see Auntie Ruth as well!!
Auntie Ruth needs to remember NOT to tell Ben that she's going on a plane, as Ben got very upset on the way home because he wanted to go on a plane.... ;)
